My Golf Equipment is ever changing. I began the 2023 year playing in January at Bearfoot Landing at the Southeastern Cup. It was very cold but worth every runny nose. My reward in making it into the Cup event was a new driver which I choose a PING G410 in October 2022. PGA Superstore then put the G425 MAX driver on sale, and we were able to exchange the old for the new and get a few weeks’ worth of practice in with it.  It was then, at the very first day of the Cup, during a practice round, that my shaft snapped in half as I was teeing off on the 8th hole, that’s how cold it was! Talk about nerves, I was able to borrow a rental driver from the clubhouse at Bearfoot landing which was awesome but not ideal.

Update: September 2023, I’ve decided to switch back to my Mizuno Irons and played a tournament that I won. So, the Honma are being retired. I didn’t think the graphite shafts were right for me.

Update:  October 2023, I got a new Taylor-Made Driver and have been driving it 250 – 260 in tournament play. Dad has inherited the Ping for his bag.

Update: July 2024, had to replace my driver after it experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly. I got fitted and decided to get the Titleist TSR4 with a stiff shaft and it’s been helping get my spin rates below 3000 rpm.

Broken shaft but still smiling.

I currently use FORESIGHT GC Quad Launch monitor with high-speed cameras.
